I would say give it every fighting chance you can, every little bit you can do will help.
Don't let the "odds" scare you, sure you might be the first OTS/CTI there (in a while... 
) I'm guessing they had some that did it after the strike...

Thanks for the encouragement, and the link. It will be a little while before I would even get there seeing that I have to do the pre-employment stuff, but I have a higher clearance than they require right now, so that should be a breeze for me.
