I went thru the first PEPC even in early January at JFK. The first thing you do is get a packet of information and your interviewer finds you by 8am. Immediately you have your interview and if he/she recommends you, you will receive your tenative offer by 8:30am. Then its off to start all the clearances/tests. Your interviewer will become your escort for the rest of the day. He or she takes you to every office and tells you stories and really makes things easy for you. It only took about 5 hours for me, not 8am-5pm as it says on the email. Everyone at the Eastern Region PEPC was extremely nice and I must have been congratulated 50 times.
2) its a take it or leave it at that point. If you decline your location, I would assume your interview part is completed, and would take the rest of the tests at another time when you've been selected for another location.
3)I wore dress pants, shirt and tie with a sweater over it. There were guys in suits and one guy in sweats and a hoodie
The women had business suits on. But its actually really casual, but is an interview so you'll want to dress well.
4) The interview was very relaxed. Just questions about why me over the other applicants, what makes me want to be a controller, what experience in my past will contribute to my success at controlling
" Typical stuff. Dont sweat it... I have heard that if you are CTI there are industry specific questions, but not if you are OTS.
5) Build your confidence and understand why you want to be a controller and you will be fine. The interview lasts all of 20 minutes.
Like I said, directly after the interview I met with someone from Personnel from OKC and was given my tenative offer. Luckily it was to PHL which was my first choice. If you really want a certain city, and hopefully you listed it as your first choice, just talk to the personnel office. If you arent immediately given that city, it could be till October 2008 till you receive another offer as I 've read on other posts.
Good luck to all applying ![]()
