Private towers are a thing of the past? Surely you're not referring to the many, many contract towers located across the nation.

I think Advancedatc will help you get into the FAA.
Except nobody's ever heard of anybody who's gone through their program and actually gone to the FAA. Wow, you think a school charging tens of thousands would be able to provide some evidence of a thing like that. Whoopsie!

If I was in your place I would go take a tour of their academy talk with them and some of the students.
There aren't tours of the Academy. Did you mean AdvancedATC? Why not ask someone who's actually "graduated" from their program and works for the FAA? I don't care that they have students there; there's a sucker born every minute. I want to see the end results.

He's talking about private towers that are not contracted by Serco & Midwest, towers at municipal airports and stuff that are run by local governments.

Bc no one has "graduated" from their program and been hired yet as far as anybody on here knows.

Read the first post and then read my post. Then go do some more research and don't quote me unless you have more information or you have all the facts. sorry I did not spell it out for you..

I didnt realize I would open up such a can of worms

As far as the links school goes...
I toured the school on Friday. Nice facility, great instructors, and the admissions rep has been very helpful. I also was allowed to visit the tower and speak with the instructors and manager; very helpful and knowledgeable individuals.

As far as the first graduating class is concerned, none have been picked up by the FAA. However, there is very good communication with the students and staff about the status of the graduates and who is being contacted. I believe the first class graduated in November, so give them a little time. Being that the FAA is a entity of the federal government and from first hand experience, nothing goes quickly and judge the schools fruits after these November graduates have had 9-12 months to go through the FAA's hiring process.

Being a pilot and understanding the process first hand of testing with the FAA for certificates and ratings, I find that the school is legit if they produce students who become certificated with a CTO. There is a written then oral, and practical test with an FAA examiner. If you pass to the FAA standards, you have earned a certificate. If there is one thing to question regarding this school it is why they do not provide 6 months of CTO experience to allow you to apply with the contractors per part 65 (I believe its part 65).

Undoubtedly, $42k is a lot to spend, if I can get the 6 months experience in the tower, I will most likely enroll...better than waiting to be hired as an OTS (pubnat 7 here, I dont think I even made it to the panels).

If someone can give a factual reason that this school is not legitimate, than please let myself, and everyone else know cause I do not want to be $42k in the hole with nothing to show for it.

Rosstafari the reason AdvancedAtc hasnt showed anyone going through and graduating and getting into the FAA is cause our first student gets their CTO next month then we'll let you know how it works out. Just cause someone on here is new and is interested in a CTO and wants that route instead of CTI get over it not everyone is on the a**hole of CTI schools like you, AdvancedAtc is a great school i am a student there and will be getting my CTO July 15 if ya wanna come watch me work my traffic . The guy that started this thread if you have any questions about AdvancedAtc pm me and ill give you all the info you need dont listen to Rosstafari he dogs our school on a daily basis!

1st...it's because your school is still an unknown. what is known, is that FCT's will not hire you because you have a CTO. you need experience. 3 months of training does not mean experience. their wanting actual FPL experience.

2nd...it seems like dogging but it's more of just advice to be skeptical. i've been in the ATC world for a few years and been a controller in the military, contract tower, and FAA. i've seen the dynamics of each. your CTO is being promised, which you will get. the job that your being led to believe you will get because of it, is NOT promised. just some friendly heads up is all it is. be skeptical and if you still want to pursue that route then by all means pursue it. i hope the best. all i'm saying (and probably rossta too) is that the promises far outweigh the reality..until we are proven wrong.

3rd...it's BASIS, not BASES.
