Current openings
Posted: 05-08-2009, 01:49 PM I was wondering if there is way to find out where possible openings are with RVA and Midwest, without calling them. I hate to bug them or would they not even say where openings were?
Thanks. |

You're not bugging them. Call all the facilities you can, then go to the company website and fill out an app for that facility. If you call the corp office they won't tell you if they have an opening. The facility chief is the best person to find out this info from.

Re: Current openings
Posted: 05-09-2009, 02:49 AM I think Serco is the only one that publicly lists job openings. All are hurting so if you are qualified they will definitely give you the time of day.
Serco has 2 new openings in Eagle, Colorado for anyone interested, haha. We get the inside track on all openings before they are posted. |

Re: Current openings
Posted: 05-10-2009, 09:12 PM "We" meaning Serco employees, sorry... the company sends out Emails to the tower managers about all new openings since Serco gives first picks to current employees who may want to transfer. After that, they are added to the website for the public.

Re: Current openings
Posted: 06-13-2009, 08:29 PM Can someone tell me if its bad etiquette to call the tower you want to apply for and ask for a tour of the facility. I just applied for a Contract Tower job here in Sacramento here at Mather. I am a prior Army controller was lucky enough to get two CTO's while on my deployments and worked TWR and en route in Kuwait with KBR.

Re: Current openings
Posted: 06-13-2009, 11:09 PM not only is there nothing wrong with it, it's highly encouraged. it's an excellent way to put your name at the top of the list. unlike the FAA, FCT's allow their ATM's to basically pick the person they want to hire. the area manager will be the one to officially offer the job, but it's the ATM that tells the area manager who they would like to hire. definitely go for it.
