Ok so here is my first forum question. I am currently in the Navy and getting out in Nov, when is a good time to apply to contract towers? I have a CTO and 9 years of controlling under my belt.

If you are looking for contract towers now is a good time to start putting in applications. That way you can slide right in to another tower.

they are all going to call you and tell you to reapply or call 30 days from your terminal leave date.

absolutely! i double dipped for almost 2 months while on terminal. set yourself up with a job before you get out. they need people, so i don't see it being too hard to get a tower job within weeks of getting out. that's IF you start calling and applying about 2 months before terminal.

yeah, wait til you are about a month out from terminal leave for a FCT job. Call the local ATM's where you want to go and show you are interested.
