Does anyone have a list or know of any towers not managed by the FAA, Midwest, RVA or Serco? I am looking to apply at some of the small city, county or state run towers.

The only one that I'm aware of is Gillette, WY. When they have openings it is handled by Campbell County. Look at Employment for any openings. You might want to call the airport manager Jay Lundell at (307) 686-1042 and ask if any opening will be coming available.

There is also another on the west side of Oklahoma, south of Hwy 40. I wish I remembered the name of it. It's run by the city, but the military mostly pays for it. It's an old military base that the military still uses for practice and is run by the city. I believe it's somewhere near Altus. I think it might be called Sherman.

I don't know accurate this list is, but you can call each tower and ask if the are ran by the city/county. Good luck.

Not always. At one point Gillette was paying $28.00/hour plus all benefits.

The one you're thinking of in Western Oklahoma is Clinton-Sherman, 50 miles north of Altus in a little town named Burns Flat. Also about 13 miles west of Clinton, Ok which used to own it. Now it is owned by OSIDA, the Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority. The majority of the traffic we run here is military with some civil.
