Positions open at Ft. Greely Alaska
Posted: 10-26-2009, 10:05 PM

I work as a controller at Ft. Greely, AK. for KayaCorp. They have only this tower but have the contract for the next 4 years. It is an Army Airfield and falls under the Space and Missile Defense Command. You must have a CTO of course, be able to pass the Army Class II flight physical (a little more extensive than the FAA) and obtain a Secret Security Clearance. The pay is on par with other contractors in Alaska. Do your research, Ft. Greely is the Army's extreme cold weather testing center. Temps sink to more than -40 in Jan and Feb. The traffic is very light, but the training is extensive. Lots and lots of bookwork. If you are easily bored or can't take very, very cold weather this is not for you. The closest McDonald's is 95 miles and the closest Wal-Mart is over 100 miles away. If this hasn't scared you off send your resume and CTO documents to the Facility Chief.
