Resume Question
Posted: 11-23-2009, 09:44 PM I got an email from Midwest asking for a resume. Anybody know what they might be looking for with a resume? I am new at them. Also is my flight physical with the Air Force good enough or willI need something else? I need a job ASAP so any info would be great. Thanks

Re: resume question
Posted: 11-25-2009, 01:18 PM their looking for your qualifications. how many CTOs, where, airport configuration (parrallel/crossing/intersecting/etc), annual operations (how busy), how long u had ur CTO.
your air force flight physical will not count. you'll have to pay for your own physical out-of-pocket. they want a current and civilian class II flight physical. it's ridiculous, i know, that even if you JUST had an air force physical in the last week they won't take it. even more ridiculous that they make u pay for ur first physical on your own dime. i can probably send u a copy of my resume if u want. |

Re: resume question
Posted: 11-25-2009, 01:24 PM Durden,
I'd strongly suggest that you go to your local library and pick up a book on writing your resume. A poorly written resume will cost you a job faster than not having all the right qualifications, your resume speaks for you so you want to have guidance in writting it. Depending on the FAA certified flight surgeon your class II medical will cost between $85 to $150, so it pays to ask local pilots who they recommend. |

Re: resume question
Posted: 11-25-2009, 01:48 PM Thanks for the info guys. I just had an Air Force flight physical, but if I am guaranteed a job I have no problem whatsoever paying for one. I have some books already so I am checking them out. Yeah Roddy Piper, if you don't mind an example would be great. Kevin@dmaks .com is my email if you can sent it that way. Also a question for both you guys. I got a phone call from a guy in CO about my application with Serco. It ws for Eagle tower. He asked me some more details about my app. Will I need a resume for later on with ths company? He said he pulled mine and 3 others, but Jerry actually does the hiring. He told me to check out craigs list for places to rent in that area. Should I get my hopes up, or does this normally happen to everyone who applies with Serco. I really hope I get that job. Thanks a lot for the info.

Re: resume question
Posted: 11-25-2009, 05:50 PM Eagle is one of those positions where they may just want you for the winter season. If your interested in something like that then maybe pursue it. If the ATM is telling you to check out craigslist for places to rent, then maybe the cost of living is high. I don't know much about the area so I couldn't tell you.
With Serco it's usually pretty encouraging when the ATM calls you to find out more info. It means your in the top 3-5 people being looked at for the position. The regional manager (Jerry) is the one that will officially offer you the job. So a call from him is VERY encouraging. Check your email. |
