Opa Locka Tower - OPF

I am looking at the pictures of the new tower under construction at OPF (Opa Locka). VERY impressive. Also, looking at their traffic numbers, (averaging 410/day in 2009, translating to almost 150,000 per year), are there any plans to covert OPF controllers to FAA? How is that determined?

No, contract towers will stay contract towers. Unless you get a big corporation and/or FBO with $$$, to push for it.
