Valdosta Regional - VLD
Posted: 04-02-2009, 05:21 PM

I just received this e-mail stating Valdosta has pulled out of the FCT program. Does anyone know about this? It sounds as though they went to the city/county rather than back to the FAA. Any info?

To whom it may concern:

You have recently submitted an application for employment to Robinson Aviation (RVA), Inc. On this application, you selected that you would like to be considered for employment at Valdosta, GA. As of April 1, 2009, the facility at Valdosta, GA has withdrawn themselves from the Federal Contract Tower program. Because of this, we can no longer consider you for employment at that location. Should you still desire to be considered for employment at the tower in Valdosta, GA, you will need to contact them direct.

This change will not impact your consideration for the other facilities you have applied for. If you have any questions, please call or email me. Thank you.

As of 1 Apr 09, the tower is being managed by Advanced ATC, Inc. and in 6 months it will also be used as a training platform for CTO students in the AATC program.
