Re: 2010 Summer AT-CTI Internships
Posted: 03-04-2010, 10:54 PM Right now on USA jobs there is a summer employment initiative position open in Oklahoma City at the MMAC. Also there was a Boston Center controller training manager speaking at UND and he claimed that there would be something regarding CTI internships but there would be less of them this summer than last.

Re: 2010 Summer AT-CTI Internships
Posted: 03-04-2010, 11:21 PM I'm pretty sure facilities decide if they want to have an intern or not. For example, Boston Center would tell the FAA we want two interns not the other way around. I may be wrong though. Like you said though, there will probably be less interns this time around bc facilities are backed up as it is and just don't have room for interns.

Re: 2010 Summer AT-CTI Internships
Posted: 03-04-2010, 11:37 PM It was kinda a screwball deal...I was in Ag working and my ag teacher told me I could use my phone to call my Spanish teacher and tell her I was working so she wouldn't count me absent. About the time I got off the phone the assistant principal walked around the corner and took it, even though I told him my teacher told me I could. Later I went to the office, and they said my parents had to come get it, but come to find out he just gave my phone to my Ag teacher and he gave it back to me bc he also thought the whole thing was ridiculous.

Re: 2010 Summer AT-CTI Internships
Posted: 03-05-2010, 04:48 PM Just for every ones information, the above post is the only summer employment this year. It is all back of the house operations and no facility jobs like last year. I was lucky enough to get one last year and Sysops who we got paid from went back under ATC. there was a national grievance against us interns for working in the TMU. So that is the reason the jobs are at various offices and not at facility's. With that said everyone who got hired last year can tell you the process is all messed up we actually didnt get to the job until July and didnt hear anything for about 2 months. So def look for summer employment elsewhere and hope to get picked up in july hopefully earlier.

Posted: 03-05-2010, 04:54 PM I just sent in my application for AAC-LDE-10-STUDENT-16587 Clerk (Student Temporary) - 2010 Summer Employment Program. It was the only one I saw that was still open, and it closes today.
