Sure, if you don't have a problem going to a place that:

A. Is insanely expensive.
B. Has no track record of placing "students" into controlling jobs.
C. Will not earn you a CTI recommendation.
D. Has been dishonest in their advertising and recruiting, both in public and on the personal levels with a few different users here who've been in touch with them.

If Link (and AdvancedATC, their counterpart in Valdosta, GA) cleans up their act and can actually demonstrate that they've been placing students in facilities, sure, take a look. But I wouldn't put down 40 or 50 grand for a place with nothing to show for it, especially when they're feeding people promises that the FAA themselves have said are untrue.

You're absolutely right, it is. You get far less training than you would at almost any CTI school, in some cases you train on the same exact equipment, and you're paying more.

They charge it because they can get away with it. There are a lot of schools like this that'll pop up almost overnight, claiming to have an edge on training people for very specific fields with wild promises on the results. It's pretty common with flight schools as well -- they'll charge a huge "tuition", make some exaggerated claims on how you'll be FO with a legacy in a ridiculously short amount of time or how they have an in with an airline to allow direct hires. For a recent example, try Googling Jet University down in Florida, who went under in the middle of the night and left a ton of students empty handed. Gulfstream International's another one that has a record of ripping people off.

The same rule you've heard all your life applies: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Link and AdvancedATC come up here every couple months. One time we got somebody who said they were a student there and who promised to come back to let us know when he/she made it through... unsurprisingly, we haven't heard back. Wouldn't be surprised if it was somebody on staff at Link anyway, since we caught them astroturfing the site at one point. Good schools don't need to stoop to stuff like that.

Ya I agree, they cant even get loans through the school yet, so you start paying 850 a month 4 months after you gratuate, it's crazy. But they said there close to getting it certified with a local community college, so well see what happens. If this school doesn't work out ill end up going CTI somewhere anywhere because I love this job

They dont have Rankings anymore i believe.
Im currently in the University of Alaska's CTI program, you do 2 years at about 10-15 grand and when you leave you have a Degree from a University. If for some reason i dont get picked up for a ATC job i still have a degree. Period.
Its not for everyone but a good choice imo.

Curious... how big is Alaska's aerospace program? They offer many networking and career placement options for students (generally speaking, I mean, not just CTI)? With aviation playing the role it does up there, I'd think it'd be a pretty good place to pursue it.
