We've had a non probationary employee washout and and get let go to the street. Permanent developmental isn't really the case, its the cpc status.

As a guy getting in to the CPC-IT to C90 biz (possibly anyway), what happens to most CPC-ITs if/when they wash?

I don't want to jinx myself or anything, but just trying to be rational about it. I've been checked out at ZAB (Level 10) for almost 2 years now. If I can't make it at C90, am I gonna get "curbed," as it were, to some lower level facility in BFE, Anywhere?

Just curious more than anything.

I'm sure I'll screw this up, but I'm just remembering from a tour of my own back in Jan.

C90's got a South Satellite wall (dealing mostly with MDW), a Departure Wall (which handles ORD departures plus a north satellite position), and the "Front Line" arrival wall that is all about ORD arrivals.

Front Line has 6 scopes (plus 3 handoffs)
South Sat has 4 scopes (plus 3 handoffs)
Dep Wall has 8 scopes (plus 4 handoffs)

That doesn't count final monitors (3) for ORD or midshift scopes (3).

Anyway... please correct me if I'm wrong on that.

In any case, I'm pretty sure to make CPC at C90, you need either the South Sat or Departure Wall, plus the Front Line. After that, it's possible to become "whole room" and cross train to the other wall that you didn't specialize in initially.

Huh. Okay, that clears some things up.

I'm trying to go over scenarios in my mind why they'd want to bid on a new hire washout over a new guy. I guess it'd depend on how far they got, what they could't handle, and anything positive their trainers had to say about them...? If we're talking OTS or CTI, replacements are a dime a dozen, aren't they?

I posted this somewhere else recently. Article 61 Section 3 states that a CPC-IT that fails to certify at the new facility will be given a list of UP TO 5 facilities, which may include the previous facility if there is an open position.

we have a guy in the LAX arrivals area at SCT that came from cleveland center and washed, hes currently in limbo... but he has 20years faa... so i doubt theyll kick him to the curb

and yeah, just confirmed with a friend of mine at c90 you need arrivals + one other wall to get cpc... thats like 10 scopes at the minimum... she pretty much screamed at me from 2000miles away because we only need 5scopes... and we're both at level 12's... lol

I know what the contract says. I'm curious about practical realities.
