Like someone said though. I remember people from the AF that were the top of the class. If you were the top performer, you got to pick where you wanted to go. They would wash out.
I don't believe a performance on a simulator alone is enough. I understand it's probably the best "non-objective" measure we have. But the instructors know. They know who will be good/bad at a facility even BEFORE they PV.
I say go with recommendations of the instructors. Those guys have a shit load of experience and can pick out someone who's going to make it and someone that will fail probably even before they step foot through the door. Yes, this is impossible (to let instructors pick and choose, even though I think it's right), but a little wishful thinking never hurt
