Re: Should I Apply to a CTI School?
Posted: 12-22-2011, 09:34 PM Just go to what ever school that will be the fastest. I also have a BA in history and i was able to finish my cti degree in 9 months at mt sac. I was selected on my first panel to CA. I would not limit yourself to one state if you really want this job. Like others have said you can always transfer later.

Re: Should I Apply to a CTI School?
Posted: 12-23-2011, 03:18 PM About transferring: I remember reading somewhere online that it is either difficult to transfer and/or not a lot of people do. (I remember reading like 85% stay in the same facility once they are placed). Is this completely wrong or...? Also, how long would it take for me to get enough experience to be able to transfer?

Re: Should I Apply to a CTI School?
Posted: 12-23-2011, 04:44 PM Depends in the facility and level. If you start out at a small facility (I.e. Level 5) it's probably a training facility and you can get out in 3 years. Higher facilities will want to keep you longer so maybe 7 years for level 12 Enroute. I'm just spitballing estimations here so no one get angry and "correct" my numbers please and thank you
