Which CTI schools are good to apply for?
Posted: 05-28-2009, 03:49 AM Hello all, I'm in the process of selecting a CTI school. I've already applied to the University of North Dakota but I'm wondering which other schools offer the opportunity to get a Private Pilot's License. I would prefer that the school itself offer a class on it since financial aid can cover the cost. Also, it would be good if the school had simulators and on-campus housing. Can you guys recommend any schools that match some, if not all of the criteria I listed? Thanks.

Posted: 05-28-2009, 07:52 AM Hello,
I just applied to CCBC, Community College of Beaver County. I may be in a different situation than you being that I already have a bachelors degree and I just want to get in and out quick. Location was also big for me. I do know CCBC offers an Associates for ATC and I believe the Private Pilot license is part of it. From what I hear they do have new simulators. I believe they only have off-campus housing though. Cost is fairly cheap compared to some other schools. Ken |

Posted: 05-28-2009, 09:02 AM I think the biggest advantage of going to CCBC is that you can graduate in a year.

Do not require your pilot license -is an option for a different type of degree along with the CTI cert. Does have sims (tower, radar, and non-radar) -fairly new and very high quality simulators/rooms inc. tower cab Does not have on campus housing -for that matter, the campuses are as much as 40 miles apart Before you make your decision, please read our users reviews of CTI schools we have posted here: http://www.stuckmic.com/cti-schools/ |

Very true, however, if you don't have the financial means it can be a real hassle. My issue was not being able to come up with thousands to fly. Something to remember, if you don't get your private ticket, you will not graduate.

Also, the whole 1 year thing only applies to people who transfer all of their general education credits in, and also come out here already having their private pilot's license. This is what I did, and I only have to be out here for 1 year (I've got 10 weeks left). |

Posted: 05-28-2009, 01:01 PM Ok, without a private pilot license, one can graduate in 15 months (4 semesters). Regardless of previous course work.

That is strange that a few CTI'ers on here still haven't got an e-mail yet...what school did you go to? |

Wow...I didn't think anybody on this site would recognize the Madvillain lol...props on that...DOOM goes way hard...
Anyway, I'm planning on starting at Mt. SAC this fall which is why I asked...I thought you had said you went there in an earlier post but I wasn't sure...how'd you like it? The coordinator there seems like a pretty cool guy...I've just been having trouble finding housing |

And don't give up hope on your e-mail...it's hard to imagine that they sent out every single invite in 1 or 2 days and that's it...hopefully there will be a second wave of them pretty soon... |
