Direct Hire list questions

Just curious to see if anyone has any experience w/ the direct hire list (time from graduation to time getting selected). Is it something that you are placed on, get picked up automatically, and you do not have to keep applying to announcements?

Direct Hire List?... Never heard of it. Everyone goes through the FAA's hiring game as far as I know. I have some very strong connections at my local facility who is very undermanned... I was able to get hired there but im still playing the hiring game.

They need to ensure you can qualify medically, mentally and physically. If there is such thing then its new to me.

no such thing as the direct hire list. At my school they told us about it and said in order to make it you have to maintain a 80% or better in the atc classes then right before I graduated a guy from the faa came to talk to us and he never heard of it. For CTI students the process after you graduate is you apply for the CTI bid and if you went to beaver you can apply for the CTO bid as well. I got picked up within a month after graduating.

Maybe you are confusing the OTS route with "Direct Hire." When I was in school at Riddle no one called it OTS, they called it direct hire. I guess because you are getting hired directly to the FAA, instead of going the CTI route.

But your question is kind of a crazy one because none of those things really go together!

Not confused, but like redner51 said, were told about the direct hire list but it appears that it doesn't mean anything
