AT SAT grades - what to expect
Posted: 06-10-2009, 03:00 PM

I couldn't find a thread like this before I took my AT SAT so I thought I'd start one. After taking the test I kept worrying about how I did and wondering if it was good enough. I crashed like 3 planes in the scenarios and didn't do great with getting planes to their destinations. in the letter factory I didn't know almost any of the situational awareness questions. however in all the other tests I thought i knew the answer to all the questions. other than the letter factory and scenarios, i thought the test was a piece of cake. but i didn't know how much those two tests counted in the grade. just wanted to let those of you taking the test after me know, i scored 100 and I definitely didn't do perfectly. when I took the test i thought it was hard, but knowing that i got 100 doing as badly as I did, the test seemed very easy. anyone else have useful anecdotes about your AT SAT scores?

The FAA does not say how they grade the AT-SAT, however clearly the questions they deem harder are worth more, but also some sections may not be counted as high....Who knows.... however most people who think they did not do good usually do pretty good, do not worry about it until you get your grade.

I honestly believe there is a hidden sub-score within the letter factory, analogies and airplane scenario. It is a score that we do not know, but the score we do know is based on the math, dials, the number scan and angles. I noticed that other people, including myself, didn't feel that good about the letter factory yet scored a 100.

the letter factory was so hard. it was tough to focus! so long and boring. and then as soon as you start drifting they hit you with a barrage of impossible questions. i especially found that any question about color i was just clueless about. apparently i can't remember colors. who knew?

but yeah, it all worked out good. for those of you who haven't taken it yet, don't stress a lot about the AT-SAT. just practice your mental math and angles a little bit. those are sections that you can score perfectly on with just a little practice.
