AT-SAT score; CTI vs. OTS
Posted: 09-24-2009, 10:44 PM Hello,
I have a quick question about the AT-SAT score. I know there isn't a definite answer here but here goes. I took it over a year ago and scored in the mid 70's and this was for Pubnat2. I'm taking it again for Pubnat 8, however I'm also now enrolled at CCBC and will graduate next August. Is getting a well qualified score as important when applying through CTI? Say I score in the 80's or god forbid in the 70's again. Do I still have a pretty good chance of getting selected? I know its a crystal ball type question, just wondering what everyones thoughts were? |

Posted: 09-25-2009, 08:22 AM I'd say a WQ is a leg up regardless of the path to getting your foot in the door. By the time you graduate, I think there will be a larger percentage of CTI grads plus OTS that have WQ scores. I don't feel it's a guarantee of getting in, even CTI, with only a qualified score. Of course I know nothing, just speculation.

Re: AT-SAT score; CTI vs. OTS
Posted: 09-25-2009, 09:28 AM Well Ken, Jim Scott told me that even though it used to be a pass/fail thing with the FAA, he says he's noticed a trend where the CTI grads with the higher scores are getting selected 1st, so they seem to be paying more and more attention to that score rather than if you just passed with whatever score, you were in.
I'm anxious to see if/how quickly I get picked up with only an 84... |

Re: AT-SAT score; CTI vs. OTS
Posted: 09-25-2009, 10:22 PM How's it going,
Yeah, I wasn't sure how much I had to worry about getting a WQ score going CTI. I guess I'll just have to do good. HAHA. I talked to Jim on Wednesday about taking it for PUBNAT 8 and he said it really didn't seem to matter when I took it. He told me it would be offered to us in the Spring for CTI, but I figured I would be alot busier then so I think I'm going to take it in October. He did mention that you can only take the AT-SAT two times total. So that answered my question. He did pass out an updated pay grade sheet and it went up a decent amount, so that's good news. ATC III is going good so far, had two tests; one was a 96 the other a 98. I'm looking forward to the next semesters. Hopefully you'll get picked up soon. Can your mom give you any indication if they need people at ZOB or not? Ken |

Posted: 09-28-2009, 01:37 PM I threw it into Perdue's Magic Eight Ball...
Will a higher score get me selected? ![]() FWIW, I've heard that most people who get WQ or Q will get picked up from CTI. But, it takes alot more to be picked up off the street as just a Q. I recommend you get used to http://jeremyjustice.com/games/index.html until you can do them in your sleep. |
