December '09 graduates
Posted: 11-29-2009, 06:34 PM IF there is another panel in January will it include more VRA and CTI or do you think it will be OTS only? Do you think December graduates will have time to get a recommendation and apply before the deadline or will they have to wait till the next panel? How long did it take past CTI grads to get into the system?

I graduated in August of this year, and I was all hopefull that I'd be included in the Sept. panels, but then they got pushed back to October. I still wasn't selected though, which I knew that was going to happen, since there were SO many applicants before me. |

Re: December '09 graduates
Posted: 11-29-2009, 09:39 PM Shit I would be somewhat pissed if new CTI graduates get in on those January-February panels. Those with vet prefs is a different story though. Pubnat7 has to see the light in the next panels. It would be so wrong for us not to...

Re: December '09 graduates
Posted: 11-29-2009, 11:42 PM Well, as has been said before, when panels are held, VRA gets picked up first, then CTO and Reinstate, then CTI, and OTS fills in the gaps at the end. I know there are still several hundred CTI grads in the hiring pool. I did hear that recently the Air Force increased the reenlistment bonus to $40,000 for ATC though. I expect the hiring numbers to be lower next year than they were in years past. Many facilities are currently flush with trainees and can't take anymore until their training has been completed. As a CTI student who graduates in May, I wouldn't expect to go to OKC until at least March 2011.

Posted: 11-30-2009, 01:17 PM A big part of getting picked up too is your location prefs also. Its a must to do a little research and make some phone calls to find out what facilities will being needing people. I graduated this past may and luckily got selected by this past panel and i think a big reason why i did was by taking that extra step and making those calls

i know how you feel but keep in mind that our (cti students') wait has been longer than yours if you count all the time we spent in school. not to mention the money we put into it.

I'm sure the previous CTI graduates have "waited" longer than you so, if anything, new graduates shouldn't be part of the current unselected pool just yet. So no, you don't know how I feel.

God forbid those of us that have taken it upon ourselves to educate ourselves get a job before someone sitting on their butt waiting for it to jump into their lap. As the VRA section told you, maybe you should go complain in the OTS section rather than CTI.
