Posted: 12-04-2009, 04:55 PM Are there any FAA approved CTI schools that do their program online?

Everyone has their own circumstances, but Vaughn is easy to work with. Let me know if you have any other questions. |

Posted: 12-04-2009, 05:53 PM see Vaughn Online. I wouldn't recommend it though. ATC class is really something that should be taken in person.

Re: Online CTI school?
Posted: 12-11-2009, 04:26 PM I was just accepted into Vaughn's Fast Track program for this January. They seem really easy to deal with and are willing to be VERY flexible when it comes to classes and the Capstone class that they require you to be present for after you complete everything.
Basically, as long as you have a Bachelor's in a Business related field, you can take their 10 ATC courses completely online and complete the program in under 1 calendar year. I spoke to David Sookdeo (1 of their admissions counselors) about this and he assured me that ALL actual courses can be taken online, however they "require" that you be present for the Capstone course after you complete all classes. The capstone course is supposedly 40 hours long altogether, and just reviews everything you learned. Somebody on here that took Vaughn's fast track previously said that it was taken over the course of 5 consecutive Saturday's - so 8 hours per session. The counselor said that they are willing to work with the student to BEST set up the classes for YOU. So, if you are just totally unable to stay in New York for a month or so for the Capstone course, it sounds like they are willing to give you the recommendation either way, like Michalak said. I'm just waiting on the final word for my financial aid and then I intend to enroll for classes starting January 19th. I hope this works out well! |

Re: Online CTI school?
Posted: 12-15-2009, 02:34 PM I also enrolled in the Vaughn CTI Fast Track Program, it will only take 1 year to complete so it is really a quick program, plus you get a second Bachelors degree which can not hurt. Also the capstone course can be taken during 1 week of solid 8 hour a day classes as well. I am looking forward to the program and have heard that it is great. Thanks

Re: Online CTI school?
Posted: 12-15-2009, 08:37 PM I am finishing up this semester at Vaughn, started last Jan. The final capstone class days will all depend on which controllers are teaching the class, then they go from there. I would highly suggest to anyone thinking about this to not take ATC online, i cannot tell you how much i learned from all my teachers who are controllers. FYI the online ATC classes will be going away, so get in the Jan classes quick if you are thinking about it. Only negative about vaughn is no simulator, however the table top suffices.
Then again the best part of CTI was getting selected at Philadelphia for the CTI internship. Nothing can beat the real world classroom... |
