I am currently a student enrolled in my second semester at Mt. SAC, and I have to say I feel fortunate to have the instructors I have, educating me.

The staff consists of people who have VERY good knowledge in what they teach and give you so much information to grow from. These are all people who know what's going on.

As mentioned by the previous review, the school appears to be geared mainly towards tower, (which is not a totally bad thing as starting in a tower is probably the best thi... [Read More]

    PROS
It is cheap, because it is Community College. That also means it is only a 2 year program, so you finish sooner. But they should call it:

"Mt. SAC: You Get What You Pay For"

    CONS
    1. If you want to be an ATC, do not go here. At faa.gov, you'll notice that most CTI schools offer degrees in "Air Traffic Control," but Mt. Sac's degree is "Aviation Science." Virtually every class is de... [Read More]

    Mt. Sac,

I have no experience in any other CTI Schools but from what i have gathered this school is unbeatable. I am in my 3rd Semester of classes taking my last ATC classes this spring. The Aeronautics department at Mt. Sac is Phenomenal. The school offers Flight Training at the lowest prices i can find. The staff for this department are basically as everyone seems to say a big family. The other students in Aeronautics are the nicest people i have met.My dad graduated from the Mt. Sac CT

I'm currently in my first semester at Mount San Antonio College. I think the instructors are great so far. Most classes do seem geared towards Pilots but it's mostly general aviation so it works. The biggest problem at the school would be the financial aid and counseling department. They are horrible!!!! No one knows what is going on and I'm halfway through the semester and haven't received my loan check yet. (I did everything on time and checked up) But if you have everything settled the school... I am in my second and last semester at Mt. Sac and I would recommend it to people that are trying to finish a CTI program fast and cheap. If you have your BA you can finish the program in one year if you are able to get all your classes. The program is getting full and with the CA budget cuts they are not adding classes while they are adding lots of new students every semester. The curriculum is more geared toward pilots even though 95% of the students are doing CTI. There are several former and... [Read More]

I graduated form Mt. SAC in 2007. It was a fast and easy program to get through, especially since I already had all my units from another school, I only had to take the Aviation courses to graduate. It was really great that it was a community college and the units were cheap, however, so many of the classes were geared towards pilots, with only 3 ATC classes (including a team skills class). I'm not sure what its like now, but the program was very small when I attended, I heard its gotten bigger ... [Read More]

Mt. Sac by far has the best instructors in the nation. I felt I was leaps and bounds ahead of the other CTI students in my academy class because they really prepare you for the academy. I have started training at my facility and between the academy and Mt.Sac I think they have given me the tools to be successful! I have certified on clearance delivery and ground. I am working on local position and then back to the academy for RTF! I recommend Mt.Sac to anyone!... [Read More]

]I am currently attending, and from what I was told, they just purchased a new simulator! Should be available to use next semester.. So far I am loving it! Better than any school I have taken classes at, I actually WANT to be there!

I started at http://www.mtsac.edu/instruction/tec...y/aeronautics/ (aka Mt. SAC) spring semester of 2008 and already had a Bachelor's Degree upon enrolling. I finished the CTI program in two semesters for a total of 28 credits. I'll try to give both the pros and the cons of the program based on my experience.

Pros: First, the price. As a California resident the entire degree cost me less than $700. Considering the cost of other CTI programs this is extreme... [Read More]

This is my 3rd semester at mtsac
I have been fortunate enough to be a part of the flying team, women in aviation, and an active member and officer for SATCA

this is my 3rd college and i LOVE it. its affordable, time saving, and the staff genuinely cares about the students.

Some professors need a bit more organization but all in all it is a good school with good activities (join SATCA!)... [Read More]

I went through MtSac awhile back...2004. The good thing is that it is a Junior College so it doesn't take 4 years. It's also good if you already have a degree because then you can just take the courses specific to CTI. Even better if you are a CA resident...no out of state tuition charges!
The bad part is that they don't have any simulators (unless they have since invested in them), and the course is mainly geared towards tower only.... [Read More]
