The school is more then accommodating, to those with a passion for the field. The staff are very helpful and they recognize potential when they see it. It is always up to the pupil to seek our information for their improvement.
    Good Luck.

Ill make this a short review since some of the others hit it right on the head. Prices were a little higher than what was previously stated. Around $10,000 a semester just in tuition. I was in the fast track program and took all the courses online. The courses themselves are not terribly hard, but if you want to have a good understanding, which you should for the ATC courses, it requires you to put in some study time and review material. Some of the professors (non-ATC classes) were not always a... [Read More]

I attended Vaughn from Fall 2010 until Spring 2012. I went for an AAS in Airport Management along with CTI. I commuted, so I can't speak for the dorms. If you are commuting, add an extra 10 minutes to whatever travel time you get from a website because the construction on the Grand Central Parkway right near LaGuardia Airport is always a nightmare. They've been redoing that part of the road for at least 5 years now.

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Vaughn. I met a lot ... [Read More]

    Background:
I attended Vaughn from June 2011-May 2012 and still have to complete the one week capstone course there in July to be recommended to the FAA. I joined up for an A.A.S. in Airport Management non-business under the fast track program. I am close to getting a bachelor degree in Intelligence Studies since I am in the Air Force and was looking for a career building degree before I decided to get out. It's important that I say I attended Vaughn as a distance student only. I have heard... [Read More]

    Background:
I attended Vaughn from January to December 2011. I already had a Bachelor's degree and enrolled in the fast-track AT-CTI program. I also earned a B.S. in Airport Management.
    Curriculum:
The classes that I completed gave a very well-rounded perspective of the aviation field. Although I gained a lot of information about ATC, the degrees offered also allow students to have other aviation-related career options. The air traffic control classes were largely based ... [Read More]

As a current student at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology, this past semester at the school I finished taking my last ATC class and have set up a date to take my AT-SAT. Originally named College of Aeronautics, Vaughn College is a small technical school across from LaGuardia Airport in Queens, NYC. Famous for it's Airframe & Powerplant training, and now one of the 14 CTI schools in the country. Students will not receive much hands-on training here when it comes to Air Traffic Control. There are no simulators or 360 degree tower sims; if you want that go to Embry-Riddle. What you do get at Vaughn is a great education from very well qualified professors and st... [Read More]

I attended Vaughn in 2004 and i graduated in December of 2008. It is a very diverse college and located right next to LGA airport where they have an observation tower which overlooks the entire operations over at LGA. You can also listen to the tower frequency from there and it is a good way to get introduced to the phraseology. Vaughn has no simulators but their instructors are everyday Controllers that work from LGA, FRG, JFK, TEB. To me that is vaulable since you get real world scenarios when... [Read More]

I am a new member of stuck mic and since I attended Vaughn College I was asked to write a review about my experience. I took classes online cause I live in Philadelphia and Vaughn is located in Queens, New York.
Even though I took classes online and was not in the classroom the teachers were very willing to help out and answer any questions. All the teachers proivided office numbers, email addresses and sometimes cell phone numbers so that I could call and ask questions any time I... [Read More]

The following review is based on my experience at vaughn college while enrolled, in the Fast Track Airport Management program. Due to the fact i had a prior degree i was eligible to participate in the fast track program at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology, the total time of the fast track program was one year, start to finish. Coming from a couple different prior schools i can say that Vaughn College has both positives and negatives to the school.
