I am a CTI student at the University of North Dakota.

When I toured the school, I loved the campus especially the aviation department buildings. I was given the opportunity to try out the ATC simulators on my tour, which is why I ultimately decided to attend UND. Another benefit to attending UND is the lower tuition fees than schools like Embry Riddle. UND is the #1 ranked CTI school with the best faculty I could have ever hoped to learn from.

There isn't a large selection of activities/ev... [Read More]

I am currently a student enrolled in my second semester at Mt. SAC, and I have to say I feel fortunate to have the instructors I have, educating me.

The staff consists of people who have VERY good knowledge in what they teach and give you so much information to grow from. These are all people who know what's going on.

As mentioned by the previous review, the school appears to be geared mainly towards tower, (which is not a totally bad thing as starting in a tower is probably the best thi... [Read More]

I must first explain that I am not a native to Colorado, I have only lived in Denver for 3 years. I could not give you the ins and outs of everything around town, but I have been going to school downtown for 2 years now. 1 of which has been spent at "Metro". Downtown college life is one of the better experiences in the world. Even from my standpoint (not a hardcore party animal), I have found this city to be culturally alive. It is a fantastic city, full of fantastic sites. Living... [Read More]

I have nothing but good things to say about the actual course work at CCBC. It is a 2 year program that you can complete in 4 straight semesters which takes about 18 months total. The school pretty much requires you to go 4 straight semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer, Fall).

The 1st and 2nd semesters are all your general classes, electives and introductory aviation courses. These courses are on par with any other CTI school in the country. By the time you get to your 3rd and 4th sem... [Read More]

I am a 2010' Graduate that attended from 2006-2010. Hampton University itself is a rich experience as it is a Historically Black College. The degrees offered at Hmapton are all 4 year bachelors. The curriclum as listed is very comprehensive and indepth and gives you a solid foundation in aviation as well as indepth knowledge of the Air Traffic system. The aviation department is small and friendly and its easy to find and talk to these professors and they will help you with anything. Our departme... [Read More]

    One the best CTI programs.

Pros: The program has a very good reputation with many FAA managers. The program coordinator provides a lot of info and important updates about the hiring process. I graduated from the terminal side and the tower can see a good deal of teachable traffic during better weather and busier times. They have retired FAA controllers as some of the tower supervisors and they provide excellent instruction and advice. The radar lab is a STARS based system which ... [Read More]

The school is more then accommodating, to those with a passion for the field. The staff are very helpful and they recognize potential when they see it. It is always up to the pupil to seek our information for their improvement.
    Good Luck.

TCC is an amazing CTI school. The area is pretty cool, the classes are small and personal, and the curriculum is top of the line. Ben and Gary (instructors) give out both their office and their personal cell phone numbers to everyone in the class. I text the all the time with questions. They're also very flexible and instructive. The simulators are top of the line, supposedly the same set up as the FAA academy, and much better than the ones we had for the Army. The classes become pretty tight kn... [Read More]

Ill make this a short review since some of the others hit it right on the head. Prices were a little higher than what was previously stated. Around $10,000 a semester just in tuition. I was in the fast track program and took all the courses online. The courses themselves are not terribly hard, but if you want to have a good understanding, which you should for the ATC courses, it requires you to put in some study time and review material. Some of the professors (non-ATC classes) were not always a... [Read More]

    Hey all!

Broward college is a great place to study air traffic control. From both of the 315 degree view simulators, to the six RADAR scopes, and two new ICE simulators this school is by far giving you the most bang for your buck. One of the best parts is the school uses airspace that is currently being used in the field! Like Miami Approach/Departure (G Scope), Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, and Miami Center's R20 and R21 airspace.

FIT is a great university with an amazing campus. You get that college feel, without the jet fumes because their flight line is a free shuttle ride away. The Professors are extremelyknowledgeable and helpful, my advisor always made himself available to talk. They have a seven class specialization for ATC, which can be achieved with any of their undergraduate majors. You really should join the ATC club, their activities, trips and contacts are amazing! I am about to graduate this semester Spring 2013. To be very straight forward and brief...

The program $$$ wise is one of the cheapest you will find which is a huge up side. There are only about 5 teachers in total so you will have the same teacher at least 2/3 times before you graduate. This can be a very great thing or a very bad thing. Speaking about the teachers there are a few which are the brightest and most respectable teachers I have had. Many of the teachers in the prog... [Read More]

    Good school. Good people.
Just make sure you take the AT-SAT more seriously than they tell you. Also, ASK THEM what steps to take after you graduate.
They've all been in the industry so long they don't realize what is second nature to them, is foreign to most.

It has been quite some time since I have posted an update to my review, so here it is. During the last year a lot has changed regarding my status with the school and how I am being treated. I am currently 100% happy with the way things are going at Hampton University. Mrs. Browning has been nothing but completely understanding and helpful! The instructors here are really helpful. They are there to help you understand every concept that they teach. Scott Miller is one of the best instructors I've ever had, his lectures are well organized and you will do well if you study. The lab is extremely fun to work with. If you RPO you will get a great advantage whenever its your turn to be the controller.(hint hint) If you want to stay in N.Cal this is your only option though. Never the less, I had a blast in these classes, I learned so much... [Read More]

I started going to Purdue in 2007 and graduated May 2011 with a bachelors. I did the full 4 year to be able to study other things on the side incase ATC did not pan out.

The campus is great. It is a little spread out (the airport where most AT classes are is a 15-20 minute walk from main campus) but they do have a good bus system to get you anywhere you need to go.

The professors in AT are very helpful especially the CTI ones. Many of them have worked for the F... [Read More]

I'm currently enrolled and attending Hampton University. It's actually been a frustrating experience since the beginning. I just started and at the point where I think I may just resign and try another school. First of all, this school is EXTREMELY expensive (30k for a two year degree), and actually is not worth the price compared to the experience dealing with staff and what not.

What you are being charged does not match up to the "experience" you will be getting. The... [Read More]

ERAU is a world-renowned university. Mainly for their many engineering programs (Newsweek ranks their undergrad aerospace engineering degree as #1 in the country), and obviously their flight training. Their CTI program is also excellent. All the classes are in the College of Aviation which is a fantastic facility with many new simulators for the students to get a real feel for controlling. The staff is very experienced and helpful. All are retired controllers from busy airports or retired milita... [Read More]

My opinion TSTC is a great school with a 21 month program and has brand new state of the art simulators. The instructors total over 90 years of experience in the FAA and are always available to answer questions and introduce you to current FAA employees who may help you get a job after you graduate. The cost is very low compared to other schools from what I have researched and like I said all of the equipment is brand new. There are only 2 negatives which are taking too many pilot intensive clas... [Read More]

MCTC is a great school for students looking for a flexible class schedule (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday). The instructors are knowledgeable and give you the opportunity to ask critical questions and improve your en-route air traffic control capabilities. The Eden Prairie Campus is near by Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Eden Prairie is a great city to live in and was rated highly in the past years. I recommended MCTC as a affordable CTI school with quality instructors and in a great ... [Read More]

I attended Vaughn from Fall 2010 until Spring 2012. I went for an AAS in Airport Management along with CTI. I commuted, so I can't speak for the dorms. If you are commuting, add an extra 10 minutes to whatever travel time you get from a website because the construction on the Grand Central Parkway right near LaGuardia Airport is always a nightmare. They've been redoing that part of the road for at least 5 years now.

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Vaughn. I met a lot ... [Read More]

    Background:
I attended Vaughn from June 2011-May 2012 and still have to complete the one week capstone course there in July to be recommended to the FAA. I joined up for an A.A.S. in Airport Management non-business under the fast track program. I am close to getting a bachelor degree in Intelligence Studies since I am in the Air Force and was looking for a career building degree before I decided to get out. It's important that I say I attended Vaughn as a distance student only. I have heard... [Read More]

I have attended Eastern New Mexico Roswell for the past year and have now completed the program. I was able to finish the program in only two semesters due to previously earned credits at another university. I would highly recommend this program due to it's very low cost and the ability to complete the program in a short amount of time. There is no other CTI school in the nation where you can complete the program in two semesters if most of your prerequisites are completed. Granted I did take 23... [Read More]
