Does anyone have any information on grants or scholarships that would apply to out of state tuition? I'm in South Carolina looking at attending MGC next fall.

Thanks.

No problem. You need to go to the Academic Common Market site, choose your state, (South Carolina) and click search for programs. The only school I could find that has ATC and would give you in state tuition is actually MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN. link As you can probably tell from my user name, I actually attended there and graduated this past May. It's a pretty good program and they're getting a new 360 degree wrap around simulator to make the program better. link to MTSU aerospace program CTI information The program here is different from most CTI schools because you choose a aviation concentration in something other than air traffic control, such as pro pilot or flight dispatch and then add the CTI courses into your program. You could also try and petition your state ACM coordinator to try to add the program at MGC to their list by contacting them with the information from this link. Good luck!

Thanks for your response. I read on the MGC website that
Code:
Academic Common Market - Students majoring in a specialized field that is not offered at a college or university in their state may apply for this waiver through the Southern Regional Education Board http://www.sreb.org/page/1304/academic_common_market.html
Since no colleges offer any form of CTI program in the state of South Carolina, is this what I want to get started on, and how soon should I start this?

Get the paperwork started with your state coordinator this Fall since program changes to the ACM are usually made in the Spring. Make sure you specify either the associates program, bachelors program, or both. Also, I would probably apply for admission to MTSU as well in case it doesn't work out with adding the MGC program to the ACM inventory. Since SC has no CTI programs I can see the AS or BS in air traffic management being added to the inventory. Make sure you get all kinds of catalog and course descriptions to submit to the SC coordinator. Also note that GA has the ultimate decision on whether to allow the program into the inventory or not.
