The notion that I haven't been getting much replies from this post probably means that you are right. Yeah, probably I should go ahead and talk with the C..I've been hesitant on doing that because while in the process of realizing this, I have been coming back and forth to my school counselors with a different major in mind.. They probably think I have already lost my mind which I am in the process already..

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.

That makes me think.. I thought I was being indecisive.. but rather that statement dawned on me that probably it is impatience that makes me change my mind from one choice to another.. Those things I need to work on.. gah.. this Physics is killing me..

..either way..

I still look ahead on working in the aviation field someday..

Thanks man.

Heh, don't sweat it too much. A lot of people don't stay with their original major, intended or declared. I switch twice, and would've done it a third time after finally figuring out what I wanted to do if I had the money to stay another year. Who knows, maybe political science will end up being useful in dealing with management.

ATC_Dreamer, If your school has a CTI program, transfer over to it. I assume your school doesn't though? If it does not, look into the schools that have a CTI program. I went back to Arizona State University in Fall of 2009 to get a second degree and go through their CTI program. Best decision I ever made, because not only does it help with the hiring process, but you also get a good exposure to what the job is going to be like. I would caution you though that a degree in Air Traffic Control is very job specific and may not be very helpful if you change your mind after going through with it.

My current school has no CTI program, but I know a school around my location that offers one (LeTourneau). That is why I am quite rushing myself on deciding to pursue air traffic control absolutely because I will be applying to that school if I decide to just abandon my current major and absolutely set my eyes on this path. If I get the job as an ATC, I guess I will not really have the thoughts to change my mind since I really am into aviation, but on the other hand, ATC's selection is from what I have seen and heard hard to get into, and not all of its graduates are guaranteed to be employed (that's the reason why I'm still clinging on to my major). If I would have a clear view given that I would considerably do well in ATC-CTI school and get the job, I will transfer to a ATC-CTI school in no time. Hearing that recession may still hang out with the country for another few years, I think it would be smart to consider a major that could give me a living after school.

Yes, I have already checked out ASU's program. I think I remembered considering getting into that school, but that would give me an out of state tuition. Now what I currently don't know is that if I end up going to LetU, will the cost of tuition be higher or lower than the out of state for ASU?Well, LetU looks like it is a good school, and it has a good reputation from the folks here that I asked so I guess I will go there if I decide to do ATC. I am also considering continuing my major at LetU and try to double major in my current major and ATC which could be quite nerve-wrecking, but I am willing to try.

LeTourneau is really expensive, but they've got a lot of new shiny stuff. If you want to talk to somebody there, send a PM to GolfJuliet; he just started in August.

Finish your degree then do the ATC degree next. Shouldn't take long. I got my original Bachelors then went to UND for get the ATC degree and it took me 4 semesters. I was there for just over a year. Two summers, one fall, one winter semester. Some schools you can do part time as well if needed. You can even go to some schools and get a Masters in Aviation and get the CTI thing after you get your original Bachelors.

Doesn't really matter have you get the CTI thing but there are a lot of options. Don't forget when applying for jobs you get 10 points for a Bachelor's degree and 15 for a Master's. A nice little boost over the competition.
