CCBC Spring 2013
Posted: 06-14-2012, 03:59 AM Hey everyone, I'm aiming to enroll in the ATC Terminal program at Beaver this coming spring. I was hoping to get a head start on looking for an affordable place to live, either by myself or with roommates. Anyone have suggestions or offers?
I'm not from the area so I will be looking for a job too, and I have lived with roommates before so I do have some experience/responsibility behind me (I'm 24 now, 25 by the time I start). I'm fine with roommates being either male or female, as long as they're alright with me. |

Re: CCBC Spring 2013
Posted: 06-28-2012, 10:13 PM I don't know if this will help any, but I'm attending CCBC this August and I have seen a few different apartments there. I'd recommend Sunnyhill apartments if you'll have a roommate. I thinks it's $525 per month plus utilities which you have to pay yourself (i.e. you will have to mail the bills). I'll be staying at Chippewa but only because it's about a half mile from the campus. It is also a bit cheaper. Good luck and hope to see you around campus in the spring!

Re: CCBC Spring 2013
Posted: 07-09-2012, 06:22 PM Hey DJ, I'm also trying for CCBC Spring 2013. This was a pretty recent decision, I'm about to send in the application tomorrow, I hope I'm not too late (fingers crossed). If all goes well, I'm willing to room with you. I am also 24, about to be 25, not from the area, etc etc. Basically your exact situation. I'm prior military so I know how to get along and live with various types of people. Let me know if you're interested, saving some money is always a win-win situation

Re: CCBC Spring 2013
Posted: 08-06-2012, 11:32 AM You guys are crazy for wanting to go to CCBC right now. There is a BIG waiting list, and even worse people aren't getting picked up. It's not out of the norm for recent grads to wait 5 plus years after graduation to get to OKC, or even worse not to get picked up at all.

Re: CCBC Spring 2013
Posted: 08-06-2012, 05:45 PM Yeah guys I just started CCBC for ATC-terminal this summer. I elected to do the accelerated schedule (summer12, fall12, spring13, summer13). Just finished summer session. Any questions you have I would be happy to answer.

I went to beaver and got picked up my very first panel, as did 34 other people from my year. I don't think your statements are very accurate...

While the CTI graduation stats from CCBC to FOL with the FAA may be subject to debate, the FACT is that the pool of unhired CTI graduates is growing at a faster rate that the annual number of open positions for new hires. Hence, each year there is more competition in the CTI pool and the Veteran pool also increases. Thus, there are more applicants for fewer jobs. So yes, compared to other fields where the labor force is projected to increase, spending good money for a very, very limited degree may not make economic sense. |
