Re: Broward Community College

Broward College is an excellent CTI school. I am currently in my 3rd semester of the program. The professors all work or have just recently retired from the FAA, most from Miami International Airport, so all of the information you are receiving is very current. They are extremely helpful with any questions that you have and break down the information for you so that you can actually learn and understand all of the rules and procedures. In the Radar class, we work one of the actual sectors from Miami Tracon. We run the arrivals and departures into two airports, as well as handling over flights and VFR popups in the area. We have to learn to use the correct procedures, phraseology, and LOAs for the airspace while maintaining proper separation. The simulator lab is BRAND new and runs the STARS system. We are currently getting a brand new Tower simulator for the next semester which will be up this June. I am very happy to be one of the first to attend this program and will graduate with a large amount of knowledge and confidence going into my ATC career. If you would like some more information, please feel free to PM me.. :cya:

I completed the CTI program in December with Matt... BCC was a great experience with lots of hands on teaching. I enjoyed using the new equipment and the tower simulator kicked ass with its voice recognition and almost 320 degree view. Most of the professors are well educated in the subject at hand and the BCC staff are all very helpful and supportive. There were a few professors who in my opinion could work on their teaching skills but overall the BCC CTI program offers a great hands-on and knowledgeable professor base and brand new equipment.

Great Instructors! Each were willing to meet you in person outside of class to help with any questions or concerns. They have a great support system and of course their new simulators! :)

Excellent school to attend. It is relatively new compared to other CTI schools. They have brand new equipment, 2 Tower Simulators and 6 radar simulators. There are scenarios built for the program and also more advanced scenarios built for extra practice. The faculty are helpful, knowledgable, and have connections in order to provide tours to any South Florida facility you wish to tour. After graduation, students are welcomed to visit and utilize the simulators to practice while waiting for the hiring process to take its course. It is not the same for every student, but personally, graduation time to receiving my TOL was 10 months. I was picked up on my first panel.

Hello my name is Eddie, I am currently in my final semester at Broward College CTI program. The school and teachers are very welcoming and helpful. They are always trying their best to educate the students and they enjoy giving one on one training on the simulators and in the lab with a moments notice. This school currently has "2" full tower simulators and "6" radar scopes, (subsequently leading to 6 pseudo stations). This has been a great experience for me and will always be a memorable one, I will never forget the teachers and staff at Broward College. "Broward College: An Elite CTI Facility." Please feel free to PM me with any questions. Regards and God Bless, Eddie.

Hey all!

Broward college is a great place to study air traffic control. From both of the 315 degree view simulators, to the six RADAR scopes, and two new ICE simulators this school is by far giving you the most bang for your buck. One of the best parts is the school uses airspace that is currently being used in the field! Like Miami Approach/Departure (G Scope), Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, and Miami Center's R20 and R21 airspace.

The Faculty and Staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They even invite you to come back and use the lab after our graduate to help keep current! It is just an all around great experience. If you still are not convinced go tour the lab.

Join me as BC ATC alumni!
