Miami Dade College is one the FAA approved schools authorized to offer the Collegiate Training Initiative (CTI), a terrific program aimed at our Air Traffic Control. Our program allows students to earn an Associate degree while completing the FAA required curriculum for Air Traffic Controllers. The curriculum includes training in meteorology, radar and non-radar operations, and visual tower operations. Eig-Watson School of Aviation students are trained on state of the art training devices for Air Traffic Control.
The MDC Eig-Watson School of Aviation provides students with the education and skills required for a successful aviation career. Associate in Science Degrees include Aviation Administration, Aviation Maintenance Management, and Professional Pilot Technology. Professional certifications include Air Cargo Agent, Airline / Aviation Management, Airport Management, Certified Flight Instructor, and Passenger Service Agent. Additionally the School offers an Aircraft Dispatcher course and flight simulation training.
Facilities and Locations
The Eig-Watson School of Aviation uses various training techniques and simulation equipment to provide students with a hands-on approach to their education. The School has classrooms at Miami International Airport and Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport, where students are immersed in the world of aviation. Classes are also offered at Homestead Campus where the state-of-the-art air traffic control simulation lab is provided.
