Posted: 02-16-2010, 04:09 AM I just signed a job offer for a slot in Kuwait. I guess there knocking down the pay now since the economy is bad but its still better than what i am making now. I will keep applying to DOD slots though, you never know what might come up... That DOD thing about always being filled that just sucks. Were defeated before we even apply...

It usually gets filled by a controller at that base who is separating or retiring. That or a close friend of the manager. |

Posted: 03-03-2010, 05:25 PM Just curious as to how some of you are actually getting letter's or referrals for the position or for other facilities? The only notifications I received are for when I submit my applications through usajobs.gov and that's where they have been ending at. My friend was picked up and the only notification she received was the actual job offer via email. I'm just trying to get a little more visibility with my apps and hope I'm not missing a step somewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Posted: 03-03-2010, 07:47 PM I get all my notifications through USAJOBS.GOV,from referrals to denials to applications received check your settings that might help. Other than that if they are no place where your applying is not updating the system then there really is not much that can be done I guess..

I may be looking to go overseas again but would like a place like Kuwait where I would have a better quality of life as compared to Iraq/Afghanistan. I'll go back and double check my settings on usajobs.
