Recent Air National Guard Base Openings
Posted: 01-27-2012, 10:25 PM

Does any one happen to have any information on the recent openings at Selfridge ANG base or Moreno Valley, CA, or the best way to go about finding where they are at in the hiring process? (i.e. contact the HRO for the base, or the AF hiring center directly)

Thanks

Isn't Moreno Valley (March ARB) a Reserve job?

Nit-picking, I know, but just clarifying that it's not partially funded by the state of CA.

Yes March is Reserve but DoD civilian controllers (GS-11+35%). Up/down-esque but with a GCA vs. a TRACON.

Only thing you can do is wait to see if the Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC) computer selects you as a potential candidate. If you are selected (again, by the computer) then you will get a referral notice. At that point you can call the HR person listed on the app to get more info. They won't help you get the job though, what helps is calling the ATM at the site after you have been referred. Do so quickly though, because they will be selecting rather fast.

I don't think the HRO on the installation has anything to do with it until you are selected. I am pretty sure if the contact number on the job posting is at Randolph then you have to meander your way through a bunch of automated systems to speak to someone. I had to do it a couple weeks ago. I spent more time pressing numbers than I did talking to someone.
It sucks but I usually just check Application Manager every few days or wait for an e-mail. I was referred to the selecting official for the job in Westover and that posting closed on the 11th. Conversely, I applied for some Army jobs and didn't hear anything for over a month. I think it just depends on how fast they want to fill the position. If you know anyone at any of the locations you are looking at, now is the time to talk to them.
