DOD ATC SSR and Premium Pay

Does anyone know where it says you can get the 30% SSR and the 5% ATC premium pay? I can find the info and pay charts for them individually, but finding where it states that you get the 5% on top of the 30% is a challenge. I have spoken to a few controllers, and I'm getting mixed answers. Discussions are going on with my HR that you can't get both. Where is it written?

It's not so much 5% "on top" of the 30%..but I am pretty sure you are thinking the right way. Its Base Pay+(Base Pay x .3)+(Base Pay x .05).

So..it comes out between 32-33% of base pay is the "extra," depending on the pay band. There are so many resources/regulations that I couldn't find both pubs that state the amount. Our civilians here get both, so Im sure they know where to find it. I'll ask them tomorrow.

I don't believe you'll find much on it, its not a "gimmie" I get it and am happy to. I has come and went over the year as far I understand it. Its to keep controllers from jumping ship to the FAA, its just an incentive.

Thanks. Anything you can find would be great. HR has such a high turnover, it's amazing how quickly they forget how to figure out ATC pay. There are two ATC facilities in the same GEO area; one gets the 5% the other doesn't.

better than nsps, we got 60 base 40 bonus last year, anything they can do to save on retirements!

Here at KCOF, (DoD/USAF), VFR tower, we get the 25% plus the 5% ATC premium, and I won't lie, it's nice..... I will check with HR to see if I can't get the regs as well....
