I am looking for any offcial FAA definition for positive seperation. I have looked in all the usual places and have done a search of this board. My area has had a rash of deals that the OM is attributing to a lack of P.S. An example he is using is a controller give two A/C on sperate transitions that will join the same arrival the same altitude to cross a fix. He has started to write people up in CEDAR to creat a paper trail that may lead to an ODAP. But, he is unable to provide a definition of what exactly P.S is. To all of us if you use radar seperation and no deal occurs then that is using P/S. Any thoughts. Sorry for the long post

Just a quick question. 2-1-18 and 3-7-2 (this section was just updated, but doesn't address 2-1-18) both conflict each other. What I'm addressing is the "approved as requested" part. Specifically in regards to vehicle ops.

Wasn't close enough to ID the a/c.) Can someone tell me why it was there? Maintenance? Repaint? Thanks for your help in this curiosity.

Just curious when addressing DCA over the frequency like when reading a clearance. Do you call it Reagan:pNation or Washington National?

Seems to be a sore spot for older controllers, but I call it Reagan National. So I'm just curious out of the current controllers on here, what do you say?

Let me clarify lol I'm talking about reading a clearance TO a pilot flying to DCA. "Cleared to DCA (however you want to say this airport) via..."

Anyone here have experience with what happens to trainees that are medically Disqualified (been in for 2 years)? Does the FAA help them find another gov't job or are they just out of luck? Hey everyone. How many of you have had surgery or any other medical conditions that almost kept you from earning you medical certificate? I was trying to get my 3rd class medical for flying and the AME made send in extra paper work about a past procedure. Once the paperwork was in, she said it had to be send down to OKC for them to decide my fate. Has this happened to anyone else before? It kind of sucks that your hopes and dreams lie in the hands of some government officials. Share your thoughts.

Newly minted Commercial pilot here that is trying to learn the system and am getting very confusing info from flight instructors and examiners.

To skip all of that and get right down to the basics.

Assuming I have a GPS on board - do you guys prefere I file direct and you guys handle it from there or do you prefere I file the entire route via intersections, VORs and airways??
