Re: Center Training
Posted: 11-21-2008, 12:10 PM i kinda figured he meant FCT. i was alluding to the fact that i went FCT, FAA, FCT, FAA all in the space of 2 1/2 years. i thought i hated the contract tower so went FAA, then hated the FAA so went back to contract tower, then i again don't like the contract tower so back to the FAA i go...hence the be careful what u wish for. LOL. u might just get it.

Re: Center Training
Posted: 11-22-2008, 10:09 AM Ya, I'm down here in OKC. I just PV'd yesterday. Only 1 of 18 in my class failed the first try. He gets to retake on Monday, and I think he will pass. My sister class had 2 people fail out completely, although there is some contraversy with that decision. I don't know any of the details, so I'm not going to comment on it.
Anyway, as far as class, as long as you study, you will be fine here in OKC. It's the very basics of what goes on at a center. They help you out a lot here. |

Re: Center Training
Posted: 11-22-2008, 08:10 PM No prob. I know I'm going to Area 1 when I get to ZID, so that's cool. I also know that I'm extremely likely to get stuck behind the ERAM upgrade before I can get on the floor and start getting D-side certs
![]() Oh well. I know the first month is all map study. I'm ready to get to ZID and start training. |

Re: Center Training
Posted: 11-22-2008, 08:51 PM Do you have any idea about the time it takes to progress through the D-sides? I mean I know it takes around 3 years to do everything but do you know specifics on how long it takes to go from AG to D-1?
And what is the ERAM upgrade, I don't know anything about that... |

Re: Center Training
Posted: 11-23-2008, 09:49 AM Like jeff said you have got to study Pretty hard....Attitude is a big factor so if an instructor comes across the wrong way just take it and move on..Some are nicer than others.. For example, there was one italian instructor who gave me a verbal beating the first time i ran with him, he really made me feel like i shouldnt even be at the acadamy..This was problem 8..I took it as motivation and studied and applied every drop of brain juice i had into the rest of my radar training and he helped me the whole way...After pv friday he was the first person to give me congrats after i passed...So that goes to show even if they beat up on you during problems they have your best interest at heart and want to see you pass....Dont talk back
