Posted: 10-29-2009, 02:31 PM Assuming there is a router in your actual room, I've had good luck with these at home: XE102 - NETGEAR.com
Now if the complex is just 'blanketed' with wireless internet, they won't do you much good. |

Posted: 10-29-2009, 05:06 PM i think pretty much every place that says it has internet that isnt a regular hotel does. I know walnut gardens and citadel do, my internet at citadel was fast, other people say theirs sucked.

Re: housing w/ hard wire internet for xbox 360
Posted: 10-29-2009, 10:24 PM wow JP can you be more of a cheap ass. Dont wanna spend the 100$ on the wireless (best thing I bought for my xbox). Dont wanna spend the normal housing rate.
You gotta remember, that if you go to say, and apartment complex... there are a million people using that bandwidth. So while ur trying to play the new CoD, you have 50 neighbor's streaming porn or netflix... or maybe gaming themselves. Sidenote: Dont hate on Kim's Place for charging the standard rate. I'm in a 15x15 room with a 10x4ft closet and my own bathroom/shower.... free food thats stocked faster than I can eat it (therefore saving me 75% of the 40$ a day food allowance)... oh and direct TV/NFL ticket/DVR's. Also, you should probably be studying instead of gaming out... I'm ex semi pro and have found I dont have time to play (oh and I'm VRA/RTF, so its not like I have to study as much as others). *edit, OH YA, I forgot to mention my net is fairly blazing. I'm pinging roughly 15 to most (central) game servers. |

Posted: 10-30-2009, 12:25 AM Tru dat on the gaming time - it's amazing how much time studying eats up once you hit the crucial phases. Basics was one thing...this is another, now you actually have something to practice.

Hey I think you were a little hard on JP. By the way, it's not the standard rate.....it's the MAX rate. Once our per diem goes up so will the rate...tee hee. As far as housing goes, Kim's place has great reviews. Oh and JP I wouldn't be worrying abut Xbox live when you should be studying for you academy class. COD4 MW2 will still be here, oh and I bet I'd whip your ass on it anyway! "anaLog I Muneco" is my gamertag. Just google me baby |

I don't think it has to do with being a cheap ass...a lot of people don't like to do any gaming wirelessly.
