Isola Bella Car Rentals
Posted: 12-23-2009, 02:29 AM I know Isola Bella offers "convenience cars" for short term rentals. With that said, does it matter if you are under 25 when trying to rent one of these cars? I know actual car rental agencies charge substantially more for a driver under 25 due to insurance; however, is I.B. the same? If someone could let me know that would be awesome.

Re: Isola Bella Car Rentals
Posted: 12-23-2009, 09:13 AM There is no age limit on the Isola Bella Courtesy Cars. The only requirements are valid driver's license, full coverage insurance, and return with a full gas tank. We request a two hour limit on use. Unfortunately there are no rental car companies in OKC that will rent to under 25 year olds.

Re: Isola Bella Car Rentals
Posted: 12-23-2009, 06:36 PM that's not entirely accurate, Dave...
HERTZ: On most rentals the minimum age is 25 without an additional Age Differential Charge, and 21 with an additional Age Differential Charge. However, the minimum age for the Hertz Prestige Collection (HPC) and a few select Fun Collection (HFC) vehicles have a minimum age of 25 to rent. AVIS: Avis rents to customers between the ages of 21-24 with a valid credit card and driver's license. At time of rental, we will automatically apply an additional $27-per-day underage surcharge in the US and $35 per day in Canada for these drivers. ENTERPRISE: Enterprise Rent-A-Car is one of the few companies that rents automobiles to people under the age of 25. There is, however, a statistically greater number of automobile accidents involving drivers in this age group. As a result, we do charge renters under the age of 25 an additional amount, which varies by location, to cover the increased exposure. If applicable, these fees are quoted with the total price when searching for a vehicle on our web site at Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Rental Cars at Low Rates. NYTWR9, keep in mind...car rentals can get expensive and Isola Bella's courtesy cars are free assuming you refill the gas... and to clarify what RedBaron said (because this was not made clear to me when I reserved an apt), you need to have FULL INSURANCE COVERAGE... in other words, if you own an old car (ex.2001 or older) and just have basic liability you will not qualify... you must have proof of insurance for theft, glass, collision, liability, etc. |

Re: Isola Bella Car Rentals
Posted: 12-23-2009, 08:54 PM Joe - guess we need to pursue this more. I know Monday Melissa spent a lot of time trying to get a rental car for a guest under 25 and came up with nothing. Wonder if there is a variable if the local rental company is a franchise or a "factory store". Stay tuned sports fans!

Posted: 12-24-2009, 02:41 PM enterprise is the cheapest underage fee i've found at only $15 a day. I also found that if i made the reservation online, and said that i was 25...they didnt check or adjust when i picked it up. i rented in cincinnati every weekend for a few months and never had to pay it using the method i described.

Re: Isola Bella Car Rentals
Posted: 12-24-2009, 02:49 PM I actually work for ERAC currently. Some states charge an underage fee. Some states do not. And I will emphasize this. If renting from Enterprise, you will need an actual major credit card. Not a debit or check card. If you want to use a debit or check card, typically they are going to require 2 utility bills in your name and a recent pay stub.
When I go back in to work tomorrow i'll check what they rates are in OKC. Also with Enterprise, they have what is called "home city" locations. Which means they aren't at the airport. Which in turn, will save you a lot more money cause you don't have to pay all the airport fees associated with it. And they will also come pick you up from where you are staying. If anyone has any more questions in regards to renting cars from Enterprise, i'll do my best to answer. But if staying at IB and you do have full coverage insurance, that is going to be the way to go for sure if you're just going to be out and about around town. I think it's great that they offer it to their guests. |
