I think I just lost my apartment >.>
Posted: 01-01-2010, 05:00 PM Haha,
I was told by Apple Tree Apartments to call today (Friday) to make sure they leave their door open on Sunday, which is when I leave. I just realized, they told me to contact them on a holiday... they aren't even there. You guy know of any last minute places I can crash for a day ( I.e. hotels or something )until these people open their doors >.< I still hope they even keep my reservation when they do open >.< Also, I think you're supposed to call American Express a few days prior to your flight to confirm your reservation and haha, can't even do that. It seems there was an emergency evacuation so they can't get to the phone... today is bad day. --and just realized this might be the wrong forum to post this <.< |

Posted: 01-01-2010, 06:01 PM Maybe it is a sign. You are probably better off staying under a bridge for the night rather than Appletree. That place is a nothing short of a cesspool. The furniture looks like it came from a 1970's porn set complete with actual stains. If your looking to save money go to Winchester Run. I would not stay at Spanish Gardens, Apple Tree, or Walnut Gardens. They are all owned by the same people and they all suck. I stayed there for the first week of my lengthy stay and then moved out. If you honestly hate yourself and want to make yourself miserable then stay there. If not. Stay somewhere else.
By the way, i dont know where else you can stay for a night but I'm sure any of the housing providers would put you up. Kims place has been known to help out people in your exact scenario but if you go to Kims plan on not leaving because it is so nice and you won't want to leave. |

Posted: 01-01-2010, 06:06 PM Well, the only reason I chose appletree was because they have a rental and courtesy car package... washer and dryer inside the apartment... and are on the academy shuttle route.
That's it basically. Are these places you mentioned open on weekends? |

Posted: 01-02-2010, 10:53 AM aaaaand... Kim's Place and Isola Bella are the most likely to have students from your class than anywhere else. So far i've had 2 people that were staying at some dump that switched over to IB, and i know for a fact that if kim has rooms then she will definitely do what she can to help you transfer

Posted: 01-02-2010, 06:42 PM Winchester Run is probably the best place to stay if you don't want to pay the full housing allowance every day. It isn't the best place if you want a ton of amenities, but the staff there will do everything they can to make your stay pleasant. They were starting to install washer/dryer units in all of the FAA apartments (Miss Betty is trying to make several buildings FAA only) when I left.
