Kim's Place and Shuttles

I know there aren't any now. I was wondering if there was a possibility of FAA shuttles at Kim's Place in the future.

My guess would be no. It's pretty far off the beaten path.

I'm living at Kim's now. And we're like a 20 minute drive from the academy. So i'm not sure how the shuttle works but it's not a bad drive.

I can't even begin to tell you how helpful Kim and John are. If you are desperately in need to save some per diem then I say stay here. It's a great environment and Kim makes it even better. Plus I'm sure you could catch a ride to the academy. A lot of people have cars.

Yea it's easy enough to get a ride to the academy. My concern was what happens if theres an accident or bad weather. From what I've heard if you drive on your own you're late, but if you're on a shuttle they'll call ahead and you'll be fine.

They give you the number to Student Services to call if you are running late. You need to tell them why and when you expect to be in so they can pass it along to your instructors. You are not marked as AWOL as long as you can in ahead of time stating that you will be late. Same applies on the shuttle; the shuttle will call in to say it's running late but if you are on the shuttle, YOU still need to call in to report that you are on that shuttle that's running late. The shuttle driver does not report who is on the bus (they don't write down names; just checks your badge when you board).

I'm staying at Kim's Place..there are SO many people who drive who wouldn't mind you riding with them. We take care each other out here. I don't feel like getting up any earlier than I have to to catch the short bus. We kinda have it made here at Kim's. I'd say it's about a 15min drive to the academy from here.
