Child care

Does anyone know of a good child care facility or private sitters near the Academy other than the Launch Pad? My husband and I will need someone starting December 15th

im in the same boat as you when i do go, i'd say start interviewing people over there now, check craigslist or contact the h/r department and see if they can help

I'm wondering if (as another option), someone might be bringing along a non-working spouse to OKC who wouldn't mind earning a little extra cash.

I found this under frequently asked question on the FAA web site.

"Is childcare provided? There is an onsite childcare facility with enrollment based on availability. The Launching Pad is open from 0630 to 1800, Monday through Friday. Their phone number is 405/954-4901. If there is no availability, or if you require childcare while attending evening courses, you may call Oklahoma Child Care Resource and Referral Association, Inc. at 405/525-3111. They offer a free service to help you find the right child care situation."

If only I was down there sooner. My wife will be coming with me (if I ever get a class date... must wait for PEPC) and we'll be bringing our (right now) 1 month old.

oh really???? not to be a opportunist but im waiting for a pepc and all that too, soo...if im in the academy same time as you...if wifey wants to earn a little cash, put me down!

Let me know if you end up there in December. I've been looking on Craigslist and stuff like that. If I don't find anyone I'll call that phone number on the website. It would still be great to find someone who is bringing their spouse.

it would be great if both of us could find someone, my issue that i will be either:

A-coming to the academy with a newborn and looking for a babysitter b/c i will be by myself{my husband is a police officer with the nypd and cant take time off}

B-the baby will be staying in nyc with either my mom or my husbands while im here

so either me or my husband will not be seeing the baby for 17 weeks, sucks but in the long run, im making a move to secure my family's financial future.....
