Question reguarding AT-SAT and beyond
(I think I already put this is the wrong section so I'm posting this here.)
Howdy,
I just got out of college and the CTI program and am currently waiting for my test date on the AT-SAT. However I just found out about something about you need 3 years work experience or 4 years of college to apply for the test, I think.
Is that piece of information right, cause I don't have either of those requirements.

Re: Question reguarding AT-SAT and beyond
You need 3 years of full time work experience, 4 years of college, or a combination of both adding up to 3 years.
If you're combining:
30 semester credits = 45 quarter credits = 9 months full time work experience

Re: Question reguarding AT-SAT and beyond
So, then I can't take the AT-SAT yet?
I have 2 years of college, so I have to work for 1 year and then test?

If that's all you have, then technically you shouldn't be able to take it... I don't know how many credits you completed while you were in college, but assuming you did 15 a semester, that's only 1.5 years of work experience and you'd need another 1.5 years to qualify. Either way, wait and see whether or not you're authorized to take it before you totally give up hope.

Re: Question reguarding AT-SAT and beyond
First, call the Career Line. They can be off at times when it comes to predicting dates, but they're the official source and you should get information like that directly from them -- people on the internet are wrong all the time. Even though Chichi's usually right, as long as you can go to the source, do so.
And my advice is about the same -- apply anyway. The most they'll tell you is that you'll need to wait, and by the time that they come around to the point that they're checking the qualifications for your group, you may have built up the necessary amount of time anyway. Who knows, they may be willing to cut a deal, so to speak... a couple of others have been able to combine experience when it seemed that they were a little short.

Re: Question reguarding AT-SAT and beyond
Thanks Rosstafari
All the information I gave you is actually in the announcement you applied to. Feel free to call anyway and double check, but it's there for you to read yourself.
TO QUALIFY BASED ON WORK EXPERIENCE, INTERESTED INDIVIDUALS MUST DOCUMENT THREE YEARS OF PROGRESSIVELY RESPONSIBLE FULL-TIME (40 HOURS PER WEEK) EXPERIENCE THAT DEMONSTRATES THE POTENTIAL FOR LEARNING. Progressively responsible experience might include for example: an increase in leadership duties, working with less supervision, or an increase in financial responsibility. You are encouraged to include any experience that is directly related to the air traffic control occupation. TO QUALIFY BASED UPON EDUCATION, APPLICANTS MUST DOCUMENT A FULL 4-YEAR COURSE OF STUDY LEADING TO A BACHELOR'S DEGREE. You may also qualify by combining your work experience and college credits; one year of undergraduate study (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours) is equivalent to 9 months of general work experience.

What is the Career line? Are you talking about the AT-SAT Program Manager?

Hmm. I think you need to read through the announcement more thoroughly. Like Chichi said, both details are in there. Check it out and come back if it's still not clear, we'll be glad to try and help out.
