Anyone heading to Atlanta Center?

Heading to OKC Jan 20th then to Atl Center. if anyone has any kind of information specifically about this center, it would be greatly appreciated.

You know that green book on the home page of stuckmic, the ASA Air Traffic Control Career Prep book.
There is a guy who went through (enroute) OKC and wrote a journal of his day-to-day experience and another about a guys journal at ZTL. Check it out, it has alot of info on the facility, how they operate,etc.

Thanks for the info! I see you selected throughout Florida! Me too but my second was GA and I got picked up. Jax center had already had their selection process before any names from PUBNAT 1 were published on the referal list. Your CTI though, I'm sure you'll get it sooner or later.

What is the difference between enroute, terminal, etc? I know this may sound like a dumb question but if I don't ask then I won't know right? I can't find it anywhere else. Thanks!

Ok... this is from the "ATC New Hire" link over on the left side of your screen. It's the description of terminal/enroute given in the geo pref email.

The Terminal option controls air traffic at airports and give pilots taxiing and takeoff instructions, air traffic clearances, and advice based on their own observations, information from the National Weather Service, Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs), flight service stations, pilots, & other sources. Terminal Air Traffic Controllers transfer control of aircraft to the En Route Center controller when the aircraft leaves their airspace, and they receive control of aircraft coming into their airspace.

Air Traffic Controllers in the En Route (Center) option give aircraft instructions, air traffic clearances and advice regarding flight conditions while en route between airports. They provide separation between aircraft flying along the Federal airways or operating into or out of airports.

And just a last note:
Enroute = Center = ARTCC
Terminal = Tower, TRACON
