I dunno, just the thought that I'm making either a great move or a colossal mistake and setting up for imminent failure followed by financial ruin.

Well, first things first, Think Positive. Of course you are setting yourself up for failure if you don't have a good mindset. Just don't take this opportunity for granted, and study! I'm sure you should do fine, as long as you study and listen to what the trainers are trying to teach you.

First of all, all that would be great, except for the obama thing and everyone knows that the pay won't be that much.
I'm just saying, if you set yourself up for failure, the only thing you are looking for is failure.
Its almost like that quote from dodgeball, "I find that if I have goals and I don't make it, then it'll be a disappointment, but then if I don't have goals, I won't be setting myself up for disappointment when I don't reach that goal."

The good thing is you still have time to process the ups/downs it has on your life. Too bad you couldn't start after the elections so you'd know what direction this career field is headed.
