I'm assuming a CTI school operates like a regular college, courses are 50 minutes long and only maybe 3 days a week. Depending on the day of the week of class, which in return effects how long you are in class. The whole experience thing depends on if you are Active or National, of course Active is getting their experience because they are doing what they are trained to do on a daily basis. National Guard on the other hand, which is what I am, only drills one weekend out of a month and two weeks during the summer. I hope I made things a tad bit clearer
So you're serious in telling me they send you straight from simulators to working local with no trainer. No experienced controller plugged in with you to correct your mistakes. And I'm not talking about tactical ATC, I'm talking about from the sims right to real world live tower XYZ cleared to land.

Classroom is great and all, military or CTI, but it is ridiculous to think sending someone from the books and sims to work solo in a tower or radar room is in any way safe. In another life I was a butcher and even then I had to show practical skills under the watchful eye of a skilled butcher to be turned loose on the world. That explains a lot about Army ATC though.

Come on now guy are you serious. FAA regs are still in place, you have to be in the tower under the eye of experienced military controllers for 6 months before you are rated. I could have sworn that was a given.....Geeeeezzzz
