    Re: Drug Testing for ADHD

I've read stories on here about folks who were denied an FAA medical because they were diagnoised with ADD or ADHD as a juvenial, and now even in their 20's, without having been on medicine for a number of years, were still not considered by the FAA.

They don't exactly want people who can't control their thoughts telling planes loaded with thousands of people where to go

    Re: Drug Testing for ADHD

Shit, I'm not sure I have ever met a controller that doesn't have adult ADD......

But in all seriousness, no, amphetemine is a major no no and ADHD/ADD meds are amphetamine. Like others have said, ask the flight surgeon, but I'm going to predict his answer.....

Really? i thought it was if you had ever taken medication it had be to disclosed? Ive been trying to go back and remember every little thing!

also OP, if you took adderall in the passed and NOT Ritilian i think you are able to get a pysch waiver saying your OK. There is a post on here about a kid who took rilitan who was DQed and not allowed to appeal but i have heard of prior adderall users (aka someones parents sent them to a shrink in highschool who said hey kid take this and gave them adderall) being controllers, so try to get off ASAP and talk to you doc about it and if he would be willing to recant / edit his diagnosis.

Hey America, get off the drugs already. All you are doing is making drug companies rich. Life is hard, that's normal.
