I'm currently in the Air Force and was looking into ATC. I'm a 1C5x1 (aerospace control and warning systems), my job is bringing the planes together insead of keeping them appart. I flight follow, deconflicting Alt. as needed, and control the tactical side of military planes (4v2 OPSAT, 4v4 DCA). I read and upload NOTAMs/AIRADs into our sytem, and communicate with ATC for IFR requests.
I have read the different ways to get hired as a ATC, and I'm stuck in the middle of Off the Street and Military controlling expirience.
I want to be an Air Traffic Controllor.
1. Does anyone work with a prior 1C5x1?
2.Do the skills listed above look more like ATC background or more like Off the Streets? (In the hiring process)
3.Would AT-CTI benifit me? (In the hiring process)
