I am heading to ZDC as well from Pubnat 3. I am awaiting the FOL and a class date.

my suggestion... live in the frederick, maryland area and commute to leesburg. northern virginia is real nice, but expensive. it leads the nation in average household income.

Hmm, I was told that it is suppose to be accessible. Guess I'll have to go back and ask a few more questions.

I am PUBNAT 7, and I currently live about 5 miles from ZDC. I also want to work enroute so obviously ZDC is my preference, but I have heard that OTS with no experience don't get selected by ZDC and that if one does get selected OTS with no exp that he or she has a hard time getting certified. Is this true? I have a high ATSAT score and a degree, so I dont know if that helps (I have read conflicting info on this). Also, would anyone recommend or have any information for setting up a tour of the facility? Thanks.

Hi all, I work at ZDC. Got hired 5/23/06, OKC date of 7/31/06, first day at ZDC was 10/17/06, checkout date was 12/9/08.

I can set up a tour if you'd like to see the place before you come here.

coryvstheworld = untrue. there are 2 guys that got here 2 months ago that have never seen the inside of a control tower or a cockpit in their whole life. that being said, training here is no b.s. we're not a level 12 facility for no reason!

=) good luck in OKC, and it is true what the say....that really IS the easiest map you'll ever learn...

Yeah, definitely not true. I am OTS and my TOL is for ZDC. I am pretty psyched and really want to check out the area well before hand. I may have to get up with you KillerQueen to set that up!
