Re: Memphis Center - ZME
Posted: 01-21-2010, 01:46 AM I'm a controller at mob approach (lv 8 up down) and am looking to learn something new/ bid up and am considering enroute. Would I still go to okc for basic center stuff, or is a cpc transfer a cpc transfer and that's it? Any insight would be appreciated.

Re: Memphis Center - ZME
Posted: 02-19-2010, 09:47 AM Quite a few folks (usually younger, and single ones) live on Mud Island. I think it is mostly just condos and apartments so anyone looking for more space would have to go elsewhere.
Southhaven and Olive Branch are both nice places to live and the cost of living is typically lower in Mississippi than it is in Tennessee unless you want to live further out from town. One thing you will have to watch out for in Southhaven is anything between Getwell and Airways north of Goodman Rd is likely to be fairly noisy because it is right under the flight path for the airport, and most aircraft are only likely to be about 3-4k' AGL (at best, lower when they're landing north) in those areas. I looked at a house just off of Tchulahoma and the DC-10s buzzing overhead got old quick. |
