My facility has training so this new terminal guy doesnt have to go to OKC because he can get the training he needs right at our building. (enroute) but I think they do make most go to OKC if they have to learn the new equipment.

A CPC terminal-to-enroute transfer does not have to go to OKC.

Ok cool, and how come I've never seen a bid for a center, is there still a rule in place where you can only ERR or hardship up 3lvls. I know that's how it was in the whitebook. Thx for the responses

jtomes, I am right with you. I interviewed for ZME on 4/29. I am excited and hoping to get there asap. Have they given you a time frame on how long to you will be going to OKC?

I think you'll be waiting awhile, but I could be wrong. There are some of us on here who interviewed last summer (June 2009 for me) and we're still waiting for class dates. Gotta wait till FY2010. C'mon October!

Haha, yeah, I totally meant 2011. And I feel ya on the positive thinking thing...it just starts to wear thin after awhile, lol.

Hey guys,
I think everyone is starting to get affected by ERAM (new system to take over the HOST system) Even classes at ZME have slowed down. On the floor, we are training anybody that is ready, but we have many waiting for a class in ZME. You have to go through D-side class before the floor and the same for R-sides. It will take some to get everyone through. That being said, we need new controllers. EVERY facility needs more controllers. We are all short and with that big of a demand, I am positive that will you get dates to OKC. (Or course as long you pass the other requirements)

I will try to keep you updated as much as possible. I don't know anything when it comes to your OKC class dates. The FAA does not give me that information. All I get is your name that says your coming to ZME and when to expect you. By the time I get that information, you have already been in OKC for a couple of months. When I see that training is starting to pick up in house, I will let you know. Just be patient, which I know is very hard to do. We all have been there. Some like me have waited 8 months, while others have waited over 1 year.

I have talked to Joe about the Memphis Center Reloaded Packet. For some of you that do not know, this is a packet that we put together for you about ZME, NATCA and Memphis. We update this packet every couple of months so we have the latest information to give you. Right now, it would be counterproductive to send the packet to you when you might not get a class date until next year. So, when you get a class date, email me asap, and I will send out the latest version of the Reloaded Packet.

Again, I know it's hard to be positive. Been there and remember it very clearly. Remember to contact your HR person every once in a while. Not everyday, but maybe once a month to find out what is going on. If you have questions or I can help you; don't hesitate to email me.
