Re: Seattle Center - ZSE
Posted: 06-04-2009, 12:38 PM Hey guys and gals. I just found out a couple of days ago that I am heading to ZSE too. Looks like we have a pretty big contingent from PUBNAT 5/6, which should make it fun. I propose that we check in on this thread every once in a while to let everyone know where we are in the process so that we can help each other out.
For those that haven't been up to ZSE or are not from the area, Auburn is located south east of the airport about 20 minutes. Although it may look nice, most of Auburn (in the valley) is not that great of a place to live, especially downtown. If I were you, I would look at somewhere outside of the valley area to set your roots. Rossta mentioned Federal Way. That is the area I went to high school. It's not bad at all, especially South Federal Way, just stay away from places close to Highway 99, since that is the area that draws all of the trouble. Now that I live in Covington I am very partial to the Kent East Hill/Covington area. I am right off Highway 18, about 5 miles from the exit for ZSE, so my commute will be a guarenteed 15/20 minutes every day. Covington is still a very small city, but it is starting to boom a little. We did afterall, just get a Costco and Home Depot. Anyways, long story short it is a pretty decent place to settle down, especially if you have a family. One of the reasons we ended up there was because real estate was much cheaper out that way then the Federal Way/Kent West Hill, and I am very glad it worked out that way. Other decent cities to live that are somewhat close: Sumner, Puyallup, Milton, Bonney Lake So, if anyone has questions going forward about the area let me know. |
