Got the call tonight for an academy date for ZID! Either 4/23/12 or 6/4/12. Will know firm date tomorrow. Applied 7/31/08, TOL 7/29/09. Man, it's still hard to believe after waiting 43+ months.

so is that everyone from your TOL-time-ish? I wonder how many people are still sitting on their TOL for ZID? i expect to get mine next week some time (at least, that's what HR said on monday)... maybe it won't be such a long wait for me, after all?

Best wishes for you, sincerely. I really have no idea how many other ZID people are waiting around. There apparently was something on the local news here in Indy about a week ago about how dire that FAA is going to be for new hires due to retirements and such. I didn't see the news piece, but really it's nothing new but still interesting that I got the call so soon after the news bit.

My advice is don't put anything on hold, and don't hold your breath. Presuming I reach CPC someday, this career change is going to cost me a bunch of lost income. I've been blessed to have this much time to put away as much as I can to help absorb the shock.

I'm pretty sure my paperwork is being used as a coaster or a placemat or something. It's been on people's desks for weeks now and I still don't even have a TOL. Every time I call, they tell me it'll be another couple of weeks. Today, I was told that they were busy sending out firm offer letters. My interview was 7 weeks ago, and I've just been sitting around. I've reached my breaking point with my retail job and I can't get hired anywhere else and it sucks. I just wish they'd send me the TOL already. Seems like such an unnecessary delay. Sorry, I'm just really frustrated with this whole process.

Believe me, I truly feel your pain. I've been grinning and bearing it at a company with whom I morally disagree, but their pay and benefits have been such a blessing for my family that I have stuck with it this entire wait for ATC.

I still have no FOL and apparently those haven't been getting out until a few weeks before class dates. Hang in there.

Yeah... totally sucks. At least you have an academy date to look forward to! The FOL will come. Apparently that's why I don't get my TOL any time soon, cuz they are working on the FOLs instead!

And at least your job has been helpful and beneficial. My loan payments eat up 95% of my monthly income from my stupid job but I just can't manage to even get an interview anywhere else that pays more. I can't WAIT until I have a class date and I'm just waiting on my FOL. (I realize that you've already waited and have been there, but I'm still envious of you. I wish I had already put in the waiting time.)
